Dave Does Disney – Episode One – The Magic Kingdom

TIME FOR BACKSTORY!

When I was in Orlando last spring, I, a lifelong Disneyland fan, visited Walt Disney World for the first time, and I knew I needed to create a historical document of the event. Because THE WORLD WOULD DEMAND IT.

Originally, I just wanted to do a silly goofing-off-at-a-theme-park video, like those Christmas Shopping videos I did. Unfortunately, my dorkiness insanity desperate need for attention passion for the subject matter caused it to grow into something beyond my control: a snarky-yet-affectionate park-by-park analysis of the Walt Disney World resort.

Needless to say, the newly-expanded project took me a lot longer to edit than I anticipated (partially because it was so complex, partially because I had other priorities). When the first one alone took almost a year, I decided to wait until I had at least a few done (and the rest close to done) before I started releasing them.

Now that I’m on my way back to Florida for the rest of the year, I figure it’s time to release episode one before I’m tempted to just go back to the parks and start over from scratch. So let’s start off with Magic Kingdom, and the watering down of all my Disneyland memories!

Please do me a favor, I am originally from Madison, I too am a Disneyworld geek. I have been in South Florida for 20 years and the one thing I have missed the most about Conn. is apizza in the south stinks. Please bring a pie from Pepe’s and I will gladly pay, I can meet you at Disneyworld, sit by the world showcase and munch away, oh the memories.

    • I’m not sure if you have been before, but as you pobrably have noticedalot of these answers mostly have the same rides (Expedition Everest, Space Mountain, Tower of Terror etc)This just goes to show that these rides usually ARE the busiest and if this is your first time, you should definately get fastpasses to most of these rides (if you are staying in a Disney Resort)Trust me, often enough, I have gotten to the line for Soarin’ and the wait sign would say 75 minutesso first thing you wanna do is get fastpasses!anyways, I’ll also name my favourite rides 1. Expedition Everest- Animal Kingdom2. Test Track Epcot3. Rockin’ Rollercoaster Hollywood Studios4. Splash Mountain -Magic Kingdom (hopefully you’ll have niec weather)5. Tomorrowland Transit Authority Magic Kingdom (very relaxing, if you’re looking for a rest, its like a train ride but higher off the ground, sort of like a monorail, around Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom)6. Toy Story Mania Hollywood Studios (DEFINATELY fastpass this)7. Tower of Terror Hollywood Studios8. Dinosaur Animal Kingdom9. Pirates of Carribean Magic Kingdom10. A Bugs Life (3D show) Animal Kingdom the show is INSIDE the huge Tree of LifeI hope you have a great time!
